16/10/2018- We have been doing some shows recently and boy have we gotten some great results! "Spyro" CH. Maemuki Bonfire Heart (AI) has hit the ring with a bang, taking out several Best of Breeds, classes in group and RUNNER UP TO BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW under Mr L Butler (NSW). I am so proud of my boy.

We also took some time to attend the ACT Endurance Test, which involves a 20km run for the dogs, with them maintaining an average pace of 10km/hr. With me on my trusty bike and Spyro doing all the hard work, he also achieved a new title at the end of his name- "ET" (Endurance Test). He will soon be known as CH. Maemuki Bonfire Heart ET. (AI).

Go Spyro!

02/06/2018- We have been taking some time off from the show ring in recent times, however still keeping busy of course! We welcomed our "H" Litter in November 2017 and they have gone to some wonderful new homes. I have kept a girl from this litter in partnership- "Lotte" (Maemuki Hocus Pocus) and we hope to see more of her in the future!

We have welcomed two new members to Maemuki and Morsha Japanese Spitz family, "Nero" and "Nova" from Itoshi Kennels in Victoria. They are from the late Ch. Belegund Di Paranor (Imp. SWE) and Miss Maddy who stayed with us for a while. We look forward to seeing them develop. Thank you Sue and Lois for this opportunity.

Saphira also attained her Australian Championship title late last year, very exciting!

I have two exciting litters planned for the end of the year. Stay tuned! However, at this stage I do not have any puppies available from these litters.

Hopefully we will hit the rings in the coming months and have some fun results to report!

09/11/2017- Wow! We have had some super show weekends lately!

Firstly, we ventured down to 'The Rock Show Society (All Breeds Championship Show)' on the 21st October and Spyro (CH. Maemuki Bonfire Heart (AI)) got RUNNER UP BEST EXHIBIT in SHOW (BIS2), Best Intermediate in Show under Mr K Hodge (NSW) with Mrs J Dickinson-Franks (NSW) awarding him Best Exhibit in Group (BIG1).

Then, with a weekend off while I was travelling for work, the following week we then headed down to the Victorian Japanese Spitz Specialty. Spyro again, shone as he achieved BEST EXHIBIT in SHOW (and Best Intermediate in Show) under Ms Eva Liljekvist-Borg from Sweden.

I am so proud of my boy, these wins are no easy feat and its great to see him being recognized. I have uploaded a few winners photos below!

30/09/2017- It has been a very busy and hectic year!

We have welcomed our E, F & G litters. The *E Litter* I used frozen semen (Fenomenets Ambition, check him out on my frozen semen page) over Tempe and got two lovely puppies who both now reside in Brisbane. Milla (Maemuki Elusive Butterfly) now lives with Leah Kimmet of Havenden where she is growing beautifully and will come back to have her own babies one day.

The *F Litter* was done in partnership with Jenny Humphrey, who now owns Laci (Ch. Maemuki All I Do Is Dreamofyou) and we used Odie (Ch. Morsha Beauabby Odie) to sire this litter. Got 4 handsome lads, one of which called Casper (Maemuki Follow That Dream) that Jenny has kept. Best of luck with him Jenny!

We then put our handsome Spyro (Ch. Maemuki Bonfire Heart (AI)) with the sweet Maddy (Ch. Snowmagic Blonde Madonna) and got 3 males. One of these called "Boomer" (Maemuki Good Day Sunshine) has gone to the USA to Karen, to hopefully be a successful therapy dog! Maddy has now gone back home and we miss her sweet personality. Thank you Lois for the opportunity to have Maddy for a while.

Show wise, it has been fairly quiet, however we do enjoy keeping a good life balance by not showing every weekend. Despite this, Spyro (Ch. Maemuki Bonfire Heart (AI)) still maintains a pretty successful show career, being halfway to his Grand Championship title if I felt that way inclined. He is a multi Best in Group, Reserve Best in Group, Class in Show and Class in Group winner. He consistently wins Best of Breed and gets many great comments from judges and breed fanciers alike.

We introduced a new girl to our family and show team in early 2017, the gorgeous "Saphira" (Patome Heavens on Fire (AI)). She is a 3/4 sibling to Spyro and they have many similarities! We used one of the boys (Multi Ch. Multi Winner. State-of-Art Adorable AL-X) I have stored in frozen semen for this litter. Saphira's Mum is a beautiful Maui daughter. Thank you to Pat Blattman of Patome Japanese Spitz for going along with one of my crazy ideas! She is over half-way to her title and has collected many many classes in group along the way. Check out her page!

Late in 2016, we neutered our beloved "Maui" Supreme Ch. Jonja Finders Keepers ET. (IMP NZL) and he is now officially retired from showing and breeding. He had a fantastic show career and produced some lovely children for us. He adores sleeping on the couch or bed and is loving retirement. However, it is not the end as we have frozen semen stored from Maui.

I have included a photo I recently took of Spyro. He is a total heartthrob!

23/07/17- So much has happened since my last update. News is incoming, but for recent happenings, check out the "About" page!

14/09/15- I have been really bad at keeping this section up to date! Netherless, so much has happened since the last posting. I got a beautiful litter via frozen semen last November which produced 3 lovely puppies, one of which I ran on. This litter was from the beautiful AL-X who lives in Norway (INT FI HR DK N GBZ SE CZ UCH EUW-13 WW-13 BW-10 AMSV-10 CW-11 NORDV-12 HeV-13 WW-14 EUW-14 STATE-OF-ART ADORABLE AL-X) and Tempe (CH. Kimyata Seeker Lover Keeper).

I just wanted to formally introduct SPYRO: Maemuki Bonfire Heart (AI) to our show team!

Isn't he gorgeous! He is a very promising young man and we are very excited to see how he matures. Spyro has been getting very pleasing results since his debut in February, even though he is a bit of a devil in the ring. He is a MULTI Class in Show, Class in Group and Best of Breed winner already! His achievements so far has been as followed:

3x Best Baby Puppy in Group's under: Mr T Valli (NSW), Mrs C Cederman (NZ) & Mrs H Weil (QLD).

He also achieved the following 3-6 month Sweepstake placing: 2nd place under Mr R Stoate (VIC)

Best Baby Puppy in Show at the Japanese Spitz Specialty (2015) under Mrs S Ikeda (Japan)

7x Best Minor Puppy in Group's under: Mr D Smith (NSW), Mrs D Duffin (VIC), Mrs K Eldred (NSW), Mrs H Furber (NSW), Mrs J Bray (NSW), Mrs V Carter (SA) & Mr S Tassan (QLD)

2x Best Minor Puppy in Show under: Mrs D Duffin (VIC) & Mrs H Furber (NSW)

The following 6-12 month Sweepstake placings:
1st under Mrs A Collyer (VIC)
3rd under Mrs C Butler (NSW)

I am missing a few Sweepstake placements....but I cannot remember which shows or judges they were. Once I hunt down the ribbons I will add them :)

He is also well on his way to his title, already winning 7x BOB wins from 6-8 months of age, beating older, mature Champions, Grand Champions and Supreme Champions! The clever boy has already knocked off well performed Grandpa Maui for the Best of Breed which is no easy feat, as Maui is a very consistent winner at Breed and group level. Many thanks to the following judges for awarding our boy: Miss S Rose (NSW), Mr B Riddell (NSW), Mrs S Patterson (NSW), Mrs D Wright (NSW), Mr D Smith (NSW), Mrs J Bray (NSW) & Mr S Tassan (QLD).

Spyro has also recieved 4 Runner up Best of Breed/ Reserve Dog Challenges.

He is now in Puppy class, however, we are yet to get out to a show since early August due to my University committments. We have more shows planned in October for Spyro.

Not to be outdone, I have also taken Maui (Sup. Ch. Jonja Finders Keepers ET. (IMP NZL)) to a few shows this year. Maui celebrated his 7th birthday this year but still looks as wonderful as ever! Here is a photo below:

Out of 9 shows this year, Maui has achieved the following:

2x Runner up to Best in Group

6x Best of Breeds

1x Reserve Dog Challenge

3x Best Open in Group

1x Best Open in Show

He also competed for the first time in Veteran Sweepstakes. In both shows he placed 3rd.

I always enjoy showing Maui, we have a lot of fun together and he is incredibly reliable in the ring- almost always giving me a good performance.

Another piece of exciting news is that we have a new CHAMPION! Laci recieved her final points for her title earlier this year and can now be known as CH. Maemuki All I Do Is Dreamofyou. Big thank you to Jenny and Barry Humphrey for your support as Co-owners and giving Laci such a wonderful home.

That sums up the year we have been having show wise in 2015. I do not show as much as others in the breed here in Australia, but when I do, my boys do me proud!

Now we are waiting to find out if Laci (Ch. Maemuki All I Do Is Dreamofyou) is pregnant in the next couple of weeks......stay tuned!

24/8/14-.A quick update! I have only been to a few shows with Maui and Laci, namely 3 shows at Parkes in June and 2 at Gilgandra in July. Maui took Best of Breed at all 5 shows which had nice number of JS entries, and Laci did well taking a Bitch Challenge and Runner-up Best of Breed to Maui at Parkes and several Reserve Bitch Challenges. She also got a 3rd in Sweepstakes at Gilgandra. Both of them enjoy showing and it is always a lovely weekend out with friends!

Due to University committments I did not get to many shows during March to May, so many thanks to my friends who took Laci out for a fun day which enabled her to achieve some more points towards her Championship!

I was very fortunate during my University break to take a trip overseas for 4 weeks. I visited Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. When I was in Finland I was also lucky enough to watch the Japanese Spitz at the World Dog Show. It was fantastic to see so many lovely JS I had only seen in photos, in the flesh! I also along the way got to visit many wonderful people and their JS and had a fantastic time doing so. A trip I will always remember.

I also was lucky to meet Maui's adorable little daughter who was 3 weeks at the tiime in Norway! I think she will be something special and I look forward to seeing her grow.

Now we are waiting on Tempe, so we can have our own adorable bundles of fluff! Fingers crossed she doesn't keep us waiting too much longer. In the meantime we have some shows planned in the next couple of months!

Maui being cheeky!

2/3/14- I am definitely no good at keeping this news page up to date! But I will do my best......  :)

So much has happened since my last entry, our "A" litter was born, raised and left for their new homes in late November 2013. I thoroughly enjoyed raising those lovely babies and watching them grow over 8 weeks and are now bringing their owners continual joy. All of them had such wonderful temperaments and were confident, outgoing and live life to the fullest.

Maemuki retained co-ownerships in the single male puppy in the litter "Wolf" (Maemuki All That I Need) who has been gracing the show rings in QLD with his Mum Steph and they have been a great team! "Laci" (Maemuki All I Do Is Dreamofyou) lives with Jenny and Barry in Sydney and I am lucky they allow me to steal her occasionally for shows and cuddles :) . Laci will eventually have a litter for us in the future. Both babies have had pleasing results in the ring, achieving best baby puppy in group and some nice fringies for themselves so smiles all round. I look forward to seeing how they both mature!

Maui and I have been venturing out into the ring occasionally and enjoying ourselves. We don't show every single weekend with my other committments, but we have been content to get out there when we can. While Maui achieved his Grand Championship Title in August, he also only needed 1 more Best in Group 7 to qualify for his Supreme Championship Title. While I was keen to achieve this last milestone with him, I also prefer to have fun first and foremost and for him to continually enjoy showing as well. So with a break from August to early December, I brought him out for two weekends in December then consistently throughout January.

In true Maui style, he kept up the consistency of his Best of Breed wins, collecting 10 along the way against various competition across December/January. We got shortlisted at most of these shows and then finally at Oberon he achieved the last BIG he needed under Mrs K Eldred (NSW)! Now he is to be known as-

Sup. Ch. Jonja Finders Keepers ET. (IMP NZL).

Now he will enjoy some time off to sleep on the bed all day and all weekend (except when we go out for runs)  while I get back into the swing of University and also multiple weekends of birthday celebrations! Maui however has not and will not be retired at this stage and I look forward to some more great times in the show ring with him.

Keep an eye out for us in the latter part of April :) I am especially looking forward to bringing Tempe back out for some shows and focusing on the two young ones.

21/8/13-  I am so proud to announce that Maui gained the final points he needed for his Grand Championship Title!

Needing only 13 points, he took out 2x Best of Breeds at The Bay City All Breeds Kennel Club and Port Stephens Dog Sports Club on Friday 16/8/13 under judges Miss M Clegg (VIC) and Mrs J Ireland (QLD) which gave him more than enough points to achieve his next title.

Now Maui will enjoy a break from the ring after being shown quite consistently for the past 2 months.

12/8/13-  Another great weekend of excellent results for Maui!

At Mid North Coast he achieved RUNNER UP TO BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP and Best Open in Group under Mrs B Warman (NZ) on Saturday 10/8/13. He had a great time and showed extremely well.

Then on the Sunday we headed to Erskine Park for the "Endurance Trial". This involves the dog completing a 20km run alongside the handler with the handler either bike riding or running. This must be completed under a time limit and the dogs running over a certain speed. They must also pass the 4 vet checks required. We are proud to announce that Maui passed and in turn, achieved his Enduance Title "ET"!!!

6/8/13- Have had a fabulous last couple of weeks show results wise!

Maui has achieved some great results with BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP & Best Open in Group at Dubbo & District Kennel Club on Saturday 3/8/13 under Mr A McQuire (QLD) and Sunday 4/8/13 under Mrs B Skilton (NSW).

At Kempsey he achieved RUNNER UP TO BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP & Best Open in Group under Mrs D Norman (QLD) on Friday 26/7/13 and Mr A Weil (QLD) on the Sunday 28/7/13.

He has also achieved 11 Best of Breed wins under Local, Interstate and International judges.

He is looking beautiful at the moment and strutting his stuff extremely well, we are having some great fun together.

Now we will be intending to achieve the final 25 points needed for his Grand Championship Title! Fingers crossed it will be soon :)

25/6/13- Finally gotten my website up and running! Nothing much to report show wise as we have had a break over the last couple of months, but been happy with our results so far this year. Maui has achieved 17x Best of Breeds and 5x Runner Up Best in Groups (BIG 2) from limited showing as well as multiple Best Open in Groups. Tempe won 10x Bitch Challenge Certificates and is now on a break from the ring until 2014 as we hope for some puppies at the end of the year.

No doubt there will be plenty of news forthcoming as we have quite a number of shows planned in the next couple of months!
